Keys!!

I was under the warm roof of my Mini car at the open parking lot of the Apollo Clinic waiting for my wife's turn for the blood sampling. We have been told to wait in the common AC lobby but we've chosen to wait out side in the lovely weather. I push my seat back and put my feet almost on the dashboard enjoying the moment to becoming father after more 3 months. My wife was busy collecting hospital bills and making it organized for the next discussion with the Gynecologist. She face was shinning like Perl in the sun and she was equally happy for her motherhood. I was watching around the parking lot fast moving vehicles on the highway just opposite to my mini car.

I was looking at my watch to go to see the pathologist in the clinic and suddenly we decide to go out of the car and give the blood sample. I just locked my car and checked twice if the doors are still open. I just taken the first step of the staircase and saw vacant covered parking area. Immediately I decided to park my car in there since the sun came out hard that time after the lovely weather.

I grabbed my pocket to fetch the keys but I could not find it. I check my other pockets and asked my wife where the car keys are? She replied - You should me know it honey, just locked the car. Shit - I forgot the key in the car!!!

She calmed me down and told me that it happens some times. You were in the good mood and enjoying the time of fatherhood so it’s just came out of your mind. Don’t worry we will go home and get the duplicates. I told ohh! You wait here I will get it. You will be tired using public transport. Bus she insists me until I agreed to take her with me.

We gave the blood sample to the Pathology department and rushed to catch some local buses. Buses are well maintained, specious and air conditioned. The bad thing is my apartment doesn’t fall on the bus route so we decided to catch the bus to the nearest point and then we will catch a three wheeler. We walked on the pedestrian way and passed some placed like some meat shop and Pork shops. We didn’t have the option other then covering our nostrils. We walked further and crossed the traffic jam. The road was smoky and ears would have lost its function if we stay there longer.

Finally we reached to the bus stop. My wife was sweating already and I was trying to speak to three wheeler driver for the round trip. The Negotiation failed and we ended up to adhere to out pervious decision to catch the bus. I lost one bus while negotiating with the three wheeler driver. I requested my wife to a shadow which is a small Fast Food center near the Buss Stop. Suddenly the three wheeler driver popped up who was asking for 4times of the actual fare. He looked at my angered face since I lost my bus patience to talk to him and gone back to his seat with the bad smile.

By seeing my wife face I could easily make out that she is tired and over heated. I saw bus coming towards Bus Stop. I raised my hand to stop the bus thought I knew we are standing on the Bus Stop. Anyway, we stepped in to the air conditioned Bus and relived in a bit. I paid the fare of both to the Bus conductor and stuffed in the seat. The bus took just 10 min to drop us at the half way of our apartment.

We stepped out of the bus and walked to the other side of the road hopping for some honest Three Wheeler. God hearted and granted out wish immediately. We got the Three Wheeler who agreed to do the round trip to the same place on the standard meter rate per Kilometer defined by local government. I politely requested the driver who was around 65 year old to drive slow on the humps for the sake of my baby inside he mother womb. We looked each other with the smile after a long time and hold our palms. I gone back to my thought to become a father and started thinking about general questions like – Would he be baby boy or girl? If boy his name should be heavy in sound so that his fellow class mate could not be able to make a joke of his name. If girl he name should not sound too romantic to avoid sill boys comes across her. The driver was really good he took my words and drove very slowly on the broken road and humps. He stopped on the railway crossing seeing the red signal on it. I was in the dreams and giving the sweet smile to my wife. I heard the sound of Train who just passed by and we begin to out apartment.

My wife fetched the duplicate keys and we rushed back to place where we caught the three wheeler. I paid the fare more then the bill on meter since the old man requested to do so due to hike on the gas price. I paid him knowingly since he took care of the humps one the whole way as a tip.

We caught the bus again and reached the bus stop from where we started. I say the same three wheeler driver who I first asked for the round trip. He was still waiting for some unknown passenger. My wife was very tired and became so down. She was almost unable to walk to the clinic where my locked car was parked under the sun- She was starving. We stopped thrice and finally reached to the door. I received the duplicated keys and opened the door.

I opened the door for her and made her comfortable and switched on the AC. We drove to the nearest McDonalds outlet and grabbed out meals. I promised myself to make a check list before I lock my car.
